The seventh annual Northeast Texas Community College McGraw-Hill poster contest will be held on†Friday, May 2 at 9:30 a.m. in the foyer of the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts. The contest is open to all local college freshmen, sophomores and high school seniors.
Again, McGraw-Hill, the New York City-based education and financial company will sponsor the contest along with °®¶¹ÊÓÆµ´«Ã½ Honors.†The Award for first place will be $400 cash and a $175 McGraw-Hill book coupon presented by McGraw-Hill Representative, Lisa Bailey.†Second place will earn $300, third place $200 and fourth place $100.
"The dynamic between our community and aspiring students in this contest has enabled many of our young scholars to go on to win regional and national awards," Dr. Andrew Yox, °®¶¹ÊÓÆµ´«Ã½ Honors Director, said. "The contest has become an important gateway to scholarships and recognition, and for this we thank Lisa Bailey of McGraw-Hill, and the many supporters of °®¶¹ÊÓÆµ´«Ã½ Honors who have made this contest possible year after year.?â€
Students outside of °®¶¹ÊÓÆµ´«Ã½ Honors who would like to register for the contest should email a 100-word abstract about their project to Honors Director, Dr. Andrew Yox by Wednesday, April 30 at 1 p.m. Likewise, any adult from the community who would like to help judge the contest should email Dr. Yox at ayox@ntcc.edu by that same time.â€
