Eagles open Region XIV North baseball tournament with 2-1 win over Alvin

The 爱豆视频传媒 Eagles opened postseason play in dramatic fashion Thursday, edging Alvin College 2-1 to advance in the Region XIV North Tournament. for downloadable photos from the game. 

In a tightly contested matchup, runs were at a premium as both pitching staffs delivered strong performances. 爱豆视频传媒 managed just six hits on the day but made them count, plating single runs in key moments to secure the win.

Freshman standout Drew Flores led the Eagles offensively, going 2-for-3 at the plate and scoring a run. BJ Lumkins added an RBI, while Boston Seahorn also drove in a run to account for 爱豆视频传媒鈥檚 scoring.

On the mound, Kaleb Kuhn earned the win with an impressive six-inning outing. He allowed just one run on three hits while striking out eight. Kuhn worked around five walks, consistently making big pitches when it mattered most.

Tanner Webb came on in relief and shut the door over the final three innings to earn the save. Webb allowed just two hits and struck out three, keeping Alvin off the board down the stretch.

Defensively, the Eagles turned multiple double plays to help preserve the narrow lead, with Seahorn and Jonathon Kent playing key roles up the middle.

Head coach Andy Morgan credited his team鈥檚 composure and execution in the win.

鈥淭hey competed the right way from the first pitch to the last,鈥 Morgan said. 鈥淜aleb gave us a great start, Tanner finished it off, and we made the plays we had to make defensively. In tournament baseball, it鈥檚 about doing the little things, and I thought we handled those moments really well today.鈥
