The 2018 issue of†մdzܳٴDzԱ,†the collegiate journal of the Texas State Historical Association released this spring, contains two essays by current Northeast Texas Community College Presidential Scholars. This is now the fourth year in a row that Northeast Texas Community College scholars nudged out leading submissions from students in other colleges and universities in Texas to be published in the prestigious collegiate journal. Ƶý Scholars have now published 13 times in†մdzܳٴDzԱ†since 2009.†ĠAn average edition of†մdzܳٴDzԱ†consists of just seven student articles, which come from all over the state.
The 2018 springdzܳٴDzԱ†also included an article on Ƶý?s award-winning Walter Webb Chapter by freshman Presidential Scholar, Warren Wu.† This article shares the story of how the Ƶý chapter made their film on Mary Kay.
?Alicia Cantrell, in her article about two seemingly unrelated feminists Barbara Jordan and Ann Richards, detailed what both shared: their ?intersectional appeal.?† Rachel Jordan published a beautifully coherent essay on how Texas artists of the Regionalist, and Modern eras, went ?against the grain? of national trends in art,? Dr. Andrew Yox, Ƶý Honors Director, said.
